Our History

Norman Rothstein was born in 1918 into a pioneer family in the Vancouver Jewish community. Norman was a successful businessman and, with his wife and beloved life partner Annette, had a passion for Israel and the cultural arts. His leadership in both the Jewish and the cultural arts communities led to Annette Rothstein’s endowment of the Norman Rothstein Theatre in the Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver as a fitting way to honor his memory. Upon her death, her name was added to the theatre to honor her dedicated support of this important community resource.
