History of Chutzpah!

Chutzpah! The Lisa Nemetz Showcase of Jewish Performing Arts was established in 2001 and addresses the need for the community to support Jewish artists and their collaborators to create and perform meaningful work that voices and/or celebrates their individual concerns and speaks to the myriad of issues facing their community and beyond.

An endowment generously donated by the David Levi Family in 2001 to honour the memory of Lisa Nemetz, who was a dancer, a lawyer, a lover of the arts and a tireless advocate for the treatment and care of women with breast cancer, has allowed Chutzpah! to ignite the imagination of the community by an outstanding caliber of art seen each year.
